Few days ago i had some issues, i would experience notebook extremely slow at times, when i examined in task manager i would see the Disk activity at 100%, even though i just restarted the system and wasnt doing anything. The odd thing is that there were anything being read or written, it was just 100% activity. Doing anything was extremely slow, we are talking several minutes to open up something. So I started to suspect the HDD, and then the Optane memory. I opened up Intel Rapid Storage Technology software, and I tried to disable it, thinking that I would try determine if its the Optane memory at fault or the HDD. So the process began and took a long time around 1-2 hours, and it had 3 steps. On last step 3 of 3,Finalizing ...or was it maybe initializing dont remember exactly, here it stuck also for about 30 minutes, and I was loosing patience, I started opening up some apps while this was still going on, and everything "seemed" to be going speedy again. I thought then maybe the software is just stuck on this step, so ill try restart the computer. This is when all hell broke lose, I dont remember the error message i got, but I couldnt get into windows. I tried reseting windows I couldnt, it would just undo the changes. I tried different options in bios like disabling secure boots, since i got also a screen with "secure boot fail". I tried disabling Optane in bios and start on harddrive only, did not work as well. I tried recover my windows with the partition on the drive for recovery, I got error message here as well and it would just restart and return to same screen. So finally I gave up, managed to save my files vid Cmd from USB windows 10, and i format the partition where my windows was on, and I managed to reinstall windows 10. Now I have a fresh windows 10 install, and im having problem with the Optane memory. The status is Offline. I will post screenshot of the status and info. But when looking in Diskpart it says its online? Also is it supposed to say 4096KB ? Clearing metadata gives me error message. Is the Optane memory screwed? Can it be saved and how?
