How to run QAT with Intel® Xeon® Gold 6430 Processor

Hello Intel Community,

I have one Intel® Xeon® Gold 6430 Processor, as below link mentioned, this processor does not have dedicated Intel® QAT hardware, is that mean no qat pci is visible by running lspci command?

Which 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors Do Support...

# lscpu
Model name: Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6430

# lspci -vnd 8086: | egrep -c "4940|4941|4942|4943"
0

After installing Intel® QAT driver for Hardware Version 2.0, there have below outputs, and no configuration file is generated in the /etc. I don't know how to use QuickAssist Software Acceleration here, could you help give me some guides?

# make -j install
......
Starting QAT service
Restarting all devices.
Checking status of all devices.
There is 0 QAT acceleration device(s) in the system:

Hello Dave Shi,

Thank you for reaching intel server support team and sharing your query with us. The Intel® Xeon® Gold 6430 Processor does not have any dedicated QAT hardware, which means nothing from the QAT driver that relates to the QAT hardware will be available. It's still possible to install the driver, but there will not be any QAT engines detected. That's why you see there are 0 QAT acceleration devices.

To use the software acceleration, you need additional resources, such as the QAT_Engine library configured for software acceleration instead of hardware acceleration. More information is available in the QAT_Engine GitHub page.
