Hi @General_Internet,

Thank you for posting here in community. I would like to further investigate the issue your experiencing. Before we proceed, please note that this is an OEM device, so we will try to assist you with general troubleshooting steps. However, if the issue persists, you will have to contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer of your device. Your device manufacturer may have altered features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes to some components for better compatibility with your system.

The fact that the device disconnects after a few seconds and displays a "USB4 may be limited" message suggests there might be compatibility or power delivery issues. Additionally, the controller hanging and requiring a laptop restart indicates a potential driver or hardware conflict.

To effectively diagnose and address the issue you're experiencing, I kindly ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions.

Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.

Have you made any software or hardware changes to the system recently?

What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far apart from restarting the laptop?

Are your TB controller and drivers and firmware up to date?

Do other Thunderbolt or USB4 devices work fine on the same port?

Have you tried using a different Thunderbolt 4 port on your laptop?

Have you tried contacting your system manufacturer regarding this issue?

Error Code 43 can occur due to **hardware problems** or **driver or settings corruption**. It is typically resolved by performing a **clean installation** of the correct **Driver** for your system. Screenshot shows there's a problem with the PCIe, I highly advise to contact the motherboard manufacturer and obtain the appropriate driver for your system.

Check this article:

FAQ About Thunderbolt™ Share

Once I have these details we can try to coordinate internally for any alternative solutions.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

You can obtain drivers and firmware updates directly from your system manufacturer that might help fixed the issue with the error message.
