topic libiomp5md.dll takes the majority of the time in Analyzers

This a snapshot of a hotspot analysis. I can't make sense of the result. I have looked at the introduction tutorials of intel vTune and there I noticed usually user functions consume larger chunks of time. Here I see that spin time, liiomp5md takes a lot of time. How should I interpret this result? Where can I look for improvement? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Ahsan,

Hi Ahsan,

I will suggest you to go through the bottom up view to look for more metrics. Also VTune may suggest you to try Threading Analysis as your next step if you hover over the red flag against Spin time.

You can go through https://software.intel.com/en-us/vtune-help-spin-time for more details on Spin time.

Also you can go through few of our tuning recipes related to inefficient threading for more understanding of the issue: https://software.intel.com/en-us/vtune-cookbook-tuning-recipes. Feel free to reach out if you still have doubts.

Mayank
