topic VTune, Visual Studio, Linux Subsystem in Analyzers

I have a project that I am running in windows Visual Studio 2019 16.4. It is a linux project that is running on the Windows Subsystem for Linux and I am using VS to debug. I am trying to use the VTune profiler, but the profiler within Visual Studio keeps saying that "project.out" is not an executable binary. Is there any way to use VTune for a linux build in visual studio?

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Vtune does not have official support for Windows Subsystem for Linux but Vtune does run without issues on multiple unofficial platforms. So it is possible that vtune might work with Windows Subsystem for Linux.

You could try installing Vtune in the Linux subsystem and profile your application.

Thanks.
