I have been trying to use Intel V-Tune profiler for the past few days without luck.

Almost everything I try end-up freezing my laptop. My mouse does not move and ctl-alt-del does nothing. I can only press the power button for 10 seconds to restart my computer.

When creating a project using V-Tune Gui, when I click to configure, it shows a message that it is detecting my hardware and freezes right away.

I can view the matrix example results using the V-Tune Gui.

So I tried several options calling V-Tune from the command line (vtune.exe) with different options like sampling using 'hw', 'sw', etc... It rarely worked, most often it just freezes the computer.

I also tried to profile one of my project that requires the use of a docker container for some simulations. When docker is running, it seems even worse and V-Tune freeze the computer 100% of the time.

I tried disabling the memory optimization and turned off all the Windows 'exploit' options for vtune.exe and pip.exe but that did not help either.

Not sure what to try next. Are there 'very safe' options I can choose to collect hotspot or profile something?

Yes, I also have the same problem. It really annoys me. The device sometimes freezes and I can only restart it by holding down the power button.

Vtune Version: 2026.0.0
My laptop(Lenovo Legion Y7000P IRX9) info:
Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS

uname: 6.17.0-22-generic

Intel® Core™ i7-14700HX × 28
