&lt;DIV&gt;There is currently no tuning assistant for Linux applications, although we know our users want it! We're probably looking at getting into the product sometime in the 2005 timeframe.&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;As for interpretation of the events, the REFERENCE GUIDE that installs with vtl is a really great place to start. Have you given it a look? It's default location is:&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;/opt/intel/vtune/doc/reference/index.htm&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;
