I have Asus Rog G814JI.

I am installing the latest Intel driver https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html. After the restart, Windows update automatically downloads and installs the Intel graphics driver number 31.0.101.4502, so I always use the old version...

Hello, all I did was install the latest driver. As I said, it reverts to the old driver. I don't know if a new driver is needed. I just wanted to install the latest driver.

Thank you for your update. This could be due to various reasons, such as compatibility issues or conflicts with existing drivers. We can explore further to understand why the new driver isn't sticking and find a solution to ensure you're running the latest version.

First, try installing the latest graphics driver version over the version Windows* update installed. Make sure you do not uninstall the version Windows* Update previously installed.

Important note:

Before starting the process, make sure that the operating system version is an official release, not a Microsoft Insider program build.
This procedure will need to be followed again after a major Windows OS installation; for example, when upgrading from Windows 11 21H2 to 22H2.

In case the workaround above does not work, you can manually install the graphics driver using the following steps:

Download the appropriate driver for your system from the appropriate link below:

Integrated graphics with the 6th generation to 10th generation Intel® Processors
- Intel® Arc™ discrete graphics and/or integrated graphics with the 11th generation or newer generation Intel® Processors
- Intel® Arc™ Pro discrete graphic

Click the Download button to download the .exe file.
Run the downloaded .exe.
During the installation process, when you reach the Install stage, click the Customize button.
Make sure not to enable the Execute a clean installation check box.
After finishing the driver installation, click the Optional reboot button

Temporarily disable Windows Updates:

Open Settings.
Click Update & Security.
Click Windows Update.
Click Advanced options button.
Under the Pause updates section, use the drop-down menu to select how long to disable updates.

Moreover, Windows* automatic updates may contain important security updates or important stability improvements. Disabling automatic updates will not install these updates.
