FPS Cap settings?

Hello,

I recently come in possession of a new computer which so far so good but I was looking for a specific setting in ARC Control. FPS limiter or any other way to set a limit.

I know it sounds stupid but for my damaged eyes there is no difference in quality above 45 FPS. The heat generated by hardware on the other hand...

I am using right now v-sync to stay at 60 FPS most of the time but I was looking to lower a bit more and maybe take off a few more Celsius Degree. And not only that, it's about increasing the stability since there are less chances on a RPG to get a broken save at 60 FPS then having it at 200 FPS.

Thanks in advice.

To intel (in case any one is looking): Awesome job with ARC A770.

Hi @Jose_Intel ,

It's all good now.

Found the real problem which was causing as side effect the increase heat on video card. Was a stupid setting on UEFI where keeping the RAM overclock option disabled (XMP) was forcing the RAM to work at 2133MHz. Among other side effects, CPU performance loss 10%, video driver resetting in the middle of the game, XeSS getting broken (game Forspoken) and creating shadows on moving objects and windows acting a bit funny (had to reinstall it every other day / 5 times in 10 days). Fixed the problem by activating XMP.

Keeping v-sync ON do the trick and keeps the video card to a acceptable 64-66°C.

Also I had some tests by editing game's config file and place a FPS limit there and is not worth it. At 80-90 FPS the temperature goes to 75-82°C, at 60 FPS drops to 60-65°C, at 45FPS drops at 58-60°C.

So 60 FPS capped by v-sync looks like best option.

It might look disappointing but so far I can't find anything to complain about regarding ARC A770. Intel did an excellent job with this video card.

BTW, I attached SSU report as reference.

Thanks again.
