Is there a way to set the GPU clock to max?

Hello, Arc A770 has a maximum clock of 2400Mhz and I have confirmed that it goes up to 2600Mhz when power limit is set to max.

However, it runs at 600-1000Mhz when idle. Even during gaming, it fluctuates between 1950mhz, 2150mhz, etc. when high performance is not required.

I would like to fix the performance to 2400Mhz during gaming. Is there a way? Setting Intel(R) Graphics Power Plan Maximum in Windows Power Options did not help.

For example, prefer maximum performance in other manufacturers' control panels can be fixed to the default clock and Pstate can be turned off through registry modification.

Hello GTX,

Thanks for posting in the community, GPU clock speed is based on the things that you are doing or working on. As an example if you are playing a game that is heavily reliant on the GPU the clock speed will boost much higher compare to other games that it does not really reliant to GPU. Though you can set you GPU clock speed to the maximum speed, however it might reduce your GPU lifespan. To help you with this you can check our public article on How Can I Overclock My Intel® Arc™ GPU Using Intel® Arc™ Control?

Let me know if you have other inquiries that I can assist you with.

Best regards,

Dhanniel M.

Intel Customer Support Technician

Hi! I'm not asking about GPU overclocking unfortunately.

This is a question about how to disable GPU clock flexibility.

The ARC A770 clocks between 600-2100Mhz (up to 2400MhZ) depending on the application or game.

This would be very beneficial for power saving. However, it may be detrimental to maintaining the game's FPS.

I tried overclocking by exactly 1Mhz. However, GPU clocks are still flexible.

I'm wondering. How to fix the GPU clock to 2100-2400Mhz instead of 600-2100MHz.

Maybe it requires editing the registry.

Hi GTX,

I see, how about I check this one and further investigate this matter. I will me some time to provide appropriate resolution to this matter.

Best regards,

Dhanniel M.

Intel Customer Support Technician

Hello GTX,

Thanks for patiently waiting, as for your inquiry if you can set the GPU clock at the speed you want, as it cannot directly configure on Intel Arc Control. Though you have to make sure that the GPU boost increased. However keep in consideration this is platform specific since Arc GPUs are designed to be as efficient as possible, this includes active power management depending on detected workloads.

One key element to achieve this is through Active-state power management (ASPM).

In BIOS you can try turning off support for Native ASPM and PCI Express SubStates (please consult with motherboard manufacturer for additional information)

Finally in Windows -> Power Settings -> set "PCI Express Link State Power Management" to off

Best regards,

Dhanniel M.

Intel Customer Support Technician
