I have been using my Intel Arc A380 for about a week now. It's very cheap and performs great. I was literally looking for a feature like this right now so I can use it for older games I play, since I can run those at hundreds of fps on this GPU. So hopefully this gets implemented soon, if possible. I know making software, nonetheless, drivers are hard, so literally kudos to you guys at the Intel GPU department.

Being able to scale past the native monitor resolution is crucial to support natural multimonitor usage. If one has several monitors with different sizes(e.g., mixing a wide format with a standard monitor) then the difference resolutions cause bad scaling relationships. E.g., a window in one monitor will look very large or small when dragged to another monitor.

e.g., I have my primary 3440x1440 and several secondaries which are usually 1920x1080. When I drag a window from the primary to the secondary it never fits and looks much larger. E.g., it has a width that is ~1.4 times larger and a height that is ~1.5 times larger. Hence being able to virtually scale up the resolution of the secondary by ~1.5 times would make a window have the same scale and avoid having to resize almost every single window that is dragged to the other window.

This should be something relatively easy to do as it is just "image scaling". I don't care about any slight issues with image quality because the convenience outweighs it.

Note that this isn't for games although maybe the same feature could work either way.

note, I tired the CRU utility that allows one to add custom resolutions but it does not work on my system which is win11 + A770.

Dear Intel Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I would like to respectfully request the implementation of a feature similar to Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR), as available on NVIDIA GPUs, for Intel Arc graphics cards. This would allow users to render games at higher resolutions such as 2K or 4K and downscale them to 1080p displays, resulting in improved visual clarity and overall gaming experience.

As a user of the Intel Arc A770, I truly appreciate the progress Intel has made in the GPU space. However, it has been around two years since many users first began requesting this feature, yet it has not been implemented. Additionally, there has been limited progress regarding improvements or broader support for XeSS upscaling files, which many users were hoping would continue to evolve.

Introducing DSR-like functionality, along with continued enhancements to XeSS, would greatly benefit the Arc community and strengthen Intel’s position in the graphics market.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to future updates and innovations from Intel.

Respectfully,
Revu
(A user of Intel Arc A770)

I'm invested in this thread! An Nvidia DSR/Amd Vsr alternative would be awesome! This was something already requested before and it's really good to see all you people gather here to show your support on this matter but i think everyone here has to open another thread so it'll be seen more serious.
