I use my samsung qe55q80t TV as my monitor, and run it at 4k 120hz

I have problems with windows detecting it correctly so I can use 4K 120hz

I have 4 HDMI ports on my TV, and one of them is 2.1

If I just connect the b580 to either of the ports, I can have 4K and 30hz or 60hz

Samsung have something in the TV`s user menue called Input Signal Plus. When I enable this, I can now choose 100hz and 120hz win windoiwes 11 display settings. This ONLY works on the 4th HDMI port with the 2.1 HDMI standart.

So far so good.......but sometimes at random, the signal of the cable is lost. I get a black screen, and also loose audio if using HDMI as sound source. It can happen on the desktop, or in games........after 2 minutes, or after 2 hours.....total random. Its only lost for a second or two....then back again.

Also, when trying to enable 120hz at 4k , sometimes in w11 display menue, I can not choose 120hz for 4k There is a 120hz *, and if i choose that, it goes 120Hz, but at 2K 1440p. But messing around, if I am lucky, then I can choose 120hz 4K

My first thought is that my HDMI cable is not up to the job.......but I have now bought 3 new cables that are 2.1 8K 60hz 4K 120 and 144hz standard. One of them is certified, but all very beefy high quality cables. Same deal on them all.

With my old Nvidia 1080 TI, all my new and old cables work fine at 4K 120hz.......and funny enough, in all 4 ports of my TV with signal input plus enabled.

So there must be a bug or incompatability with the samsung input signal plus which must be able to be fixed since it works fine on my 1080TI card i guess <LI-EMOJI id="lia_slightly-smiling-face" title=":slightly_smiling_face:"></LI-EMOJI>

Another thing, whern openeing chrome of firefox, I get a white screen and delay before it opens. This only happens on the 6559 driver. If I roll back, it does not happen.....of if I disable hardware acceleration in the chrome settings. My windows outlook mail , and even the calculator apps also have a pause oddly enough.

Hello SJN,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities! I'm truly sorry to hear that you're experiencing this connection issues directly associated to the latest graphics driver version.

To investigate further, may I ask if you have used DDU to remove previous driver versions and performed a clean installation of the latest graphics drivers? If not, please refer to the links below:

How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an...

Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers in Windows*

Let me know if this works for you.

I stand corrected.

After more testing, the 2.1 8K 60hz 4K 120 and 144hz standard certified cable is the only one that works without dropouts.

But this B580 card sure is picky on cables, as all of my old cables will give me 120hz on my old Nvidia 1080 TI.

For anyone interested, I used this cable: https://noerdic.nu/products/nordic-certified-cables-5m-ultra-high-speed-hdmi2-1-8k-60hz-4k-120hz-144hz-48gbps-dynamic-hdr-earc-game-mode-vrr-dolby-atmos-guldbelagt-pvc-sort?srsltid=AfmBOorjff8IZorZagpSh0Xg3GoAVO4wadPHd9xnyUb_lSMuRU1XdHXf

Regarding the delay opening chrome and outlook, it has been fixed on the new driver release 6632

HDMI 2.1 Fixed Rate Link (FRL) enables 4K @ 120 Hz 10-bit uncompressed at a data rate of 40 Gbps. In my experience, a good certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable is essential for this. Recommended length with passive copper cables: minimum 2 meters (6.6 ft), maximum 3 meters (10 ft).

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (Pascal) does not support HDMI 2.1 FRL. It only offers HDMI 2.0b TMDS at 18 Gbps (4K @ 60 Hz).

Did you use an active DisplayPort to HDMI protocol converter (PCON) cable? The Pascal architecture supports DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3. With a PCON you can convert this to 4K @ 120 Hz 8-bit on HDMI side.

No, just normal HDMI cables. It must be the samsung Input Signal Plus that does something since it works on all 4 HDMI ports on my TV, and not just the one 2.1 port .
