PC SPECS:

Asrock intel arc b580, Ryzen 7 5700x, 32gb 3000mhz ram, Aorus b450 elite (re-bar ON), 750w gold psu

Im having issues with screen tearing -

So I have my FPS capped at 144 inside the intel software, and i have the Rivatuner enabled to show temps, frametime etc... and my frametimes are always 100% perfect in the recording when im moving in-game. I also tried capping the FPS inside of Rivatuner and not Intel's software, but the screen tearing it is still there.
Basically every time I press ESC in-game, or tab in and out of the game, the "screen tear" happens in a different spot. It kind of just stays stationary at that part of the monitor until i ESC or tab in and out of the game. It's constantly tearing with any movement, and in this clip i was looking at some lamp post to try and show it as good as possible.

Also the screen tearing when I tried capping the FPS on RTSS was not stationary, and was kind of going from the top to the bottom of the monitor every second, not sure why and how this changes, maybe different FPS cap values since i've tried 141, 142 etc... or just difference between intel and RTSS frame cap..

I've tried DDU (in safe-mode), i've tried enabling v-sync and that obviously fixes it but nobody wants input delay in a competitive shooter.. I've tried enabling AMD freesync on my monitor but that doesn't work either (not sure if its even compatible? ive heard it works with b580 but i guess not?), I've tried reinstalling CS, deleting shader cache, different resolution and fullscreen modes (I play 1280x960 stretched), I've tried to change i think all Intel software options like screen sharpening, scaling methods etc... Nothing seems to work...

Also when I play with uncapped FPS or capped ABOVE my monitors 144hz, the game just stutters way too much and kind of feels like im playing 120hz

Any clue?

EDIT: I've loaded up minecraft to test if screen tearing happens aswell, and yes it does.

EDIT (2): Even tho I don't want to play CS2 with the launch option "-vulkan" because it is not supported by FaceIt and is stuttering even with capped 144fps constant frametimes, ive loaded it up again to see if the screen tearing happens with that, and the screen tearing DOES NOT happen with vulkan. Normal cs2 is running D3D11 and minecraft is running OGL

Hey Mike,

Im pretty sure the issue was always there, I assume I didn't really notice it because I used to NOT cap my FPS to my monitors refresh rate, which overall made the games more stuttery compared to capped fps, and therefore I didn't notice the screen tearing (I just tried to play again WITHOUT a FPS cap, and I can confirm that the screen tearing is way harder to spot with the micro stuttering and higher fps, but it's definitely still there)

(I have also tried the latest 6790 WHQL aswell as the older 6651 WHQL to see if it happens on a different driver version, and yes, the issue is still the same)

Im using the Asrock Intel Arc B580 Challenger 12GB OC.

Hey, I've done this, and the issue is still the same.

Just to go over it again: The screen tearing thing happens in DX11 (cs2), and OGL (minecraft), but when using vulkan in cs2, the screen tearing doesn't happen, however the fluidity and overall smoothness of the game feels very stuttery, regardless of if I fps cap it or not.

The new SSU log is attached below.

I've also attached a video of it happening in minecraft, as you can see the screen tearing thing is kind of going from the top of the screen to the bottom gradually.

Edit: I can try to replicate it on some other games if it's necessary.

Hey,

1. I will download some other game and test soon.
2. Vsync is OFF when this issue occurs. The issue is fixed with VSYNC however I don't want input lag that comes with vsync.
3. My monitor is AOC 24G2W1G4
4. I sent some screenshots of the game settings
5. Can you please explain this part a bit better? How exactly do I create the "IntelGraphicsSoftwareLogLevel=Trace" ?, and also about the event viewer logs, do I have to first play the game and cause the screen issue to happen before going into the event viewer and saving or? And what and how do I exactly save in the event viewer?

Also one more thing, I've noticed the issue doesn't happen in minecraft If Im in windowed mode (not in fullscreen). Only when im in fullscreen the issue occurs. However with counter-strike 2, it still occurs even in windowed mode. Not sure why that is, maybe because the windowed mode between the different games is a bit different, because in minecraft i can adjust the size of the window when dragging the edges of the game, but in cs2, I can only use the resolution set in the game settings, and cannot resize the window by dragging the edges.

Hi @Danyyy3l,

I'm contacting you on behalf of my technician, Mike_Intel. Due to system limitation, this thread can only focus on one issue.

May I know if the focus of our discussion would be CS2 or Minecraft?

For the other game, I suggest creating a separate thread so that our team can focus on addressing the issue for that game.

I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Ernesto C.

Intel Customer Support Engineer
