We are currently experiencing frequent VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (BugCheck 0x116) BSODs in multiple systems using Arc A770 cards.
I would like to ask for technical advice or possible known issues related to our situation.

System Configuration:

CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3955WX
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 + Intel Arc A770 (multi-GPU configuration)
Motherboard: Supermicro M12SWA-TF
OS: Windows 10 x64 (Build 19041)
RAM: 256GB ECC
PSU: 1200W

Issue Details:

The BSOD occurs frequently with VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116), igdkmdnd64.sys being identified as the failed module.
Surprisingly, the issue sometimes happens even during idle or light workloads, where no heavy 3D rendering is involved.
Event Viewer consistently logs Event ID 4101 ("Display driver igfx stopped responding and has recovered.") before the crash.
We have tested multiple units and observed the same pattern on multiple systems.

Reproduction:

Occurs randomly, including during idle states or when resuming from sleep or low power states.

Driver version tested:

Intel Arc Graphics Windows DCH Driver 32.0.101.6651

My questions are:

Is this TDR issue related to known power management or multi-GPU stability limitations with the Arc A770?
Are there any driver-level fixes or workarounds available for such cases?
Would disabling Arc as primary GPU or adjusting TdrDelay help in these scenarios?
Are such issues planned to be addressed in upcoming driver releases?

We would greatly appreciate any advice or insight on how to stabilize Arc A770 in multi-GPU workstations, especially for professional/industrial use cases.

Are you using an Intel brand Arc A770?
When did you start having this issue?
Was it working fine before?
What was the last change made in the system before the issue started?
Have you tried to use just the Arc A770 in the system and are you also having the same issue?
Or did you try your Arc A770 on a different system to check if you will get BSOD?

Hi Michael

1. Yes, we are using Intel brand Arc A770 Limited Edition (16GB model).

2.The issue has been present since the initial installation of the Arc A770 in our multi-GPU workstation system.
It started from the first boot-up and has persisted through various Windows updates and driver versions.

3.No, the issue started immediately after installing Arc A770 into the system.
Even during early driver versions (32.0.101.4091) as well as the current version (32.0.101.6651), the problem has remained.

4.The only change was the addition of Arc A770 into a system that was previously running stable with NVIDIA RTX 4060 only.
After adding Arc A770 as a secondary GPU, VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (0x116) BSODs started to occur.

Additionally, this issue occurs not only when using one Arc A770 together with one RTX 4060, but also when using two Arc A770 cards together with two RTX 4060 cards in the same system.

5.Yes, when we temporarily removed the NVIDIA RTX 4060 and used only the Arc A770, the system became more stable.
However, occasional TDR errors still occurred, but at a much lower frequency.

6. We tested the Arc A770 on another AMD-based system without any NVIDIA GPU installed.
While there were still some TDR timeout events (Event ID 4101), the full system crashes (BSOD) were significantly reduced

In addition, we have tested more than 15 systems each using the same hardware configuration but with different motherboards — one group with ASUS boards, and another group with Supermicro boards. Both groups experience the exact same symptoms.

We would greatly appreciate any advice, known issue confirmation, or recommended workaround to help stabilize Arc A770 in these multi-GPU workstation environments.

does this happen if you disable monitor sleep?

because i have found that monitor sleep on either of my a770's often leads to eventual video related bsod on 24h2 wasnt really an issue on 10 but.. 10's a dead os a this point.. so.. yeah..

Thank you for the links and reply.

To clarify, we are not trying to use Arc GPUs in parallel mode (like CrossFire/SLI).
We simply want to use Intel Arc A770 and NVIDIA RTX 4060 in the same system — for separate workloads.

The RTX 4060 is used for vision-related software, while the Arc A770 is designated for AI processing workloads.

However, in this configuration, VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE BSODs frequently occur.
This issue happens even when the system is idle, with no heavy GPU tasks running.
We also tested the same setup on multiple motherboards (Supermicro and ASUS), and all showed the same failure.

We are not attempting multi-GPU rendering or combining both GPUs for the same output.
This is a simple dual-GPU environment, and we are expecting both cards to coexist without driver conflicts.

Thank you for the comment. I will need to double-check if the system enters monitor sleep mode – I haven't verified that yet. Currently, the OS is Windows 10 Pro. Thanks again for the insight!

Also, for your information, we delivered a few systems equipped with Intel® Arc™ B580 upon the end user's request.

Unfortunately, due to the customer's internal security policy, we were unable to obtain the SSU logs.

Also, as previously mentioned, a few systems were delivered with Intel® Arc™ B580 instead of A770 at the end user's request.
It seems that they are currently testing those systems.

Additionally, please note that even if we obtain the logs later, we may not be able to share them publicly on this forum due to confidentiality concerns.
