Dear staff

Greetings. I am a video editor, and my work requires prolonged use of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.

Recently, I purchased the Intel(R) Arc(TM) B580 Graphics as my primary graphics card. Prior to buying, I read online reviews stating that Intel’s GPUs excel in video encoding, support hardware decoding for multiple H.265 codecs, and come equipped with a large 12GB VRAM—all of which sounded ideal and perfectly aligned with my needs.

However, after purchasing the card, I discovered that it does not support hardware acceleration in Premiere Pro or After Effects. This has forced me to rely on CPU-based software decoding for my editing work, which has significantly impacted both my productivity and daily life (as I depend on editing for income).

Additionally, every time I launch After Effects, the software displays the message: “Mercury 3D is not supported by the current hardware.” The hardware acceleration option in the settings is also grayed out and entirely unselectable.

Here are my system details:

Operating System: Windows 10 22H2 (19045.5131)

Editing Software: Adobe Premiere Pro 2023 / Adobe Premiere Pro 2025

Compositing Software: Adobe After Effects 2023 / Adobe After Effects 2023

Hardware Configuration:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5700X

Graphics Card: Intel(R) Arc(TM) B580 Graphics

Memory: GLOWAY DDR4 3200 16GB

Motherboard: TUIF GAMING B550M-PLUS

Storage: A combination of solid-state drives (SSDs) and hard disk drives (HDDs)

The graphics card driver is currently the latest version: 32.0.101.6913.

All other hardware drivers are also up to date.

To clarify, this platform performs flawlessly and stably in gaming and other applications.

The issue is isolated to video editing and visual effects compositing.

I sincerely hope the respected engineers can provide a solution.

Thank you all!

Hi, Archie D,

Hello, I'm very sorry for not replying to your message in a timely manner—I was away for a period due to work-related matters. However, I’m delighted to inform you that I’ve resolved this issue. The solution is quite simple: upgrading the Windows 10 system to Windows 11 allows After Effects (AE) and Premiere Pro (PR) to enable Mercury Playback Engine acceleration with OpenCL. Thank you for your message!

Have a nice day

Nicholas_Tsai_cn
