Hey!

I just bought an Intel ARC B 580, which is connected to my Monitor AOC 24G2W1G4 by DP Cable. The Monitor perfectly is capable of running FreeSynch, which was absolutely no Problem with my old Geforce Card.

Now The Intel Software and Windows 11 show that VRR is not supported, which is NOT TRUE.

I can t believe I get such a dumb driver Problem instantly after switching to an Intel Graphics Card. That s just sad.

What can I do to resolve the Problem? And please don t tell me to RollBack to a Driver version, where VRR works ( I already heard about that ). How can THAT be a solution? Just make it work again!

the issue where your monitor no longer shows VRR (Variable Refresh Rate / FreeSync) support after installing your Intel® Arc B580 often comes down to driver configuration or compatibility detection between the GPU, display, and the OS. A displayport cable you have is that’s fully DisplayPort 1.4. Some cheaper cables can cause VRR detection issues. Do you still have the IGCC application? Open the Intel® Graphics Command Center (IGCC) → Display → Adaptive Sync / VRR → ensure it’s toggled on (if available). If VRR still doesn’t appear, try resetting your display’s OSD settings and reconnecting it. Some monitors need to “handshake” again with the GPU after driver updates.

Update - Oh wait, one moment, it seems that VRR is 'Not Supported' in Intel® Arc™ Control. I found one intel link https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000098241/graphics.html based on their website, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is not supported in Intel® Arc™ Control when connecting a monitor that supports VRR via HDMI. To enable VRR, ensure that the HDMI input on the display is of the HDMI 2.1 standard and that the display supports VESA Adaptive Sync, which is the VRR technology supported by Intel Arc A-Series and B-Series GPUs. If these conditions are met and VRR is still not functioning, it is recommended to contact the display manufacturer.

hope it helps,,,
