topic B580 runs great on all titles but PUBG in Intel® Arc™ Discrete Graphics

Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded from an old 1080ti to a B580, to pair with my Ryzen 5700x and 32gb of RAM. I was aware that it would take some setting up to get the B580 working correctly, which is no problem for me. I looked at a lot of benchmarks and comparisons, and the B580 is a clear improvement over the 1080ti. I primarily play PUBG, and stream it part time. I found someone's PUBG gameplay on their B580 paired with a Ryzen 5600x, a worse CPU than mine, and they had much better FPS than my 1080ti. So I figured it would work well.

Unfortunately, on PUBG the performance and stability on the B580 is a massive downgrade compared to the 1080ti. This is confusing to me, as every other game I have tested (Apex Legends, Crusader Kings 3, CoD, Cities Skylines, Foundation, Battlefield) show a huge improvement over the 1080ti. I have a 240hz monitor, and the B580 maxes it out when I play Apex and a couple other games I tested. On PUBG, I am only able to get above 200 fps when looking out at the sky or an area with little to no objects. When I look towards a city, or am in the vicinity of other players, my FPS tanks to the 50-70s. This problem persists across all DirectX modes, and is by far the worst in DirectX12, where sometimes the FPS has gone as low as 20, and rarely goes above 150fps. The game is still technically playable on DirectX11 mode, since 70fps still works, but on the 1080ti it never went below 100fps except for a moment. The experience on the 1080ti in dense urban areas and around other players was significantly more smooth.

Here's everything I've tried:
- Fresh Windows Install

- DDU cleaning of old drivers

- Rebar is enabled, 4G decoding is enabled, CSM is off

- Tested with SMT on and off

- Tested current drivers as well as Oct 2025 driver (8247) since I heard that one may improve performance, it only made things worse

- High Performance mode in Windows settings, as well as HAGS turned off and on

- Probably a few other things I've forgotten about

I know it's a lot, so I appreciate it if anyone has read through my problem. I love PUBG, it's my favorite game. So I'd be really bummed if I can't get it to run better than the 1080ti. Are there any other potential fixes I could try out?

Thank you

Hi, thanks for the response. In MSI Afterburner, the option to disable ULPS is greyed out, and it says it's an option reserved for AMD graphics cards. Where can I edit the registry to disable the feature?

One thing I forgot to note in the original post: in the training grounds mode, the card hits 240+ fps with no issues. And it's a dense area, with buildings, cars, moving entities, etc. Stable max refresh rate no matter where I look. It seems to only be an issue in multiplayer lobbies for some reason.
