Hello, i am posting this question because i want to know if the Intel Arc B580 with the latest drivers supports interlaced resolutions.

I want to know if by creating interlaced resolutions with a software called "Custom Resolution Utility" they will show up and be usable on the windows mode list.

The only reason im still holding on to my 1080Ti is because it is the most powerful gpu properly confirmed to be able to do it on Windows, i want to upgrade and if i could choose, i would like to upgrade to an Intel B580 or A770 16GB gpu , i need interlaced resolutions.

Through HDMI or DisplayPort doesnt matter (but preferably DisplayPort) , i am aware that Arc GPUs are capable to do it hardware wise, im asking if with latest drivers it is possible.

Can you provide more information that you are not getting the interlaced resolution?
Can you share some screenshots?

Hello , i do not have an Arc graphics card, i want to upgrade to one.

I need interlaced resolutions to be usable, the anecdotal evidence i was able to gather online seems to conclude interlaced resolutions are not supported on intel gpus, that they only worked on day 1 2022 drivers.

That's why i made this thread, i want to know if Intel Arc gpus in 2026 can do interlaced resolutions, if so, i would upgrade from my current 9 year old GTX 1080Ti to an intel arc, if its not the case i'd be forced to switch to amd and linux which i really really would prefer avoiding, but that is how much important interlaced scan is.

And if interlaced is not currently usable, could it be in the future with future driver updates?

The reason i authored this thread in the first place was precisely because i have asked both arc A750 and B580 owners directly if they were able to get interlaced resolutions to render in their displays, both of which had previously used (and still can use) interlaced scan perfectly through their intel integrated graphics on their core i7 12700K and i9 11900K on the same displays.

Both were unable to get interlaced to work at all on these gpus with latest drivers, i do know for a fact that the Alchemist gpus were able to render interlaced resolutions on their day 1 2022 drivers, albeit imperfectly, they were capable through both hdmi and displayport.

This has not been the case for a while, in fact, the thread you link me to there from 2024 was already factually incorrect since interlaced resolutions just wont show up at all on windows advanced modelist with 2024 drivers.

A custom made interlaced resolution doesnt show up on windows resolutions list, a native integrated resolution from the display's own edid also doesn't show up in windows resolution list, no matter what, intel arc dGPUs wont even be able to bring the resolution up to the windows mode list if it isn't progressive.

I know that the hardware of these gpus can render interlaced resolutions, i also know that developing drivers and fixing issues is a gigantic task and i recognize that my request is very tiny and insignificant, but please, if you could bring this feature back in the future you would help so many people so much, even if its just to the 2022 day1 levels of resolution functionality, DisplayPort actually had better functionality with interlaced scan than HDMI back then.

Just to be clear, i want to upgrade to an arc gpu, i dont like nvdia and i really dont like radeon, i want to go from my dying 1080Ti to an Arc B580 or better, brand new, but interlaced is just that important.

If any future drivers for Alchemist or Battlemage do add interlaced scan support back, please let me know, anything would be amazing but if it could be supported through displayport with its full bandwidth and also without any minimum pixel clock requirement that would be the most ideal, powerful, useful and versatile solution of all, but again, even just day1 2022 functionality would be godsent, if i remember correctly hdmi was limited to 85mhz and displayport was limited to around 221mhz.

Thank you so much for giving any attention to this, i will gladly upgrade to an Arc gpu the day interlaced becomes viable again.

Thank you again for the suggestion. The request was evaluated and unfortunately, we will not be enabling this capability in the drivers.

Well my heart is absolutely broken but i guess it was kinda expected, i think it is a sad waste of potential since the hardware in the Arc gpus can interlace but i guess you guys are just tasked too much already.
