Arc Pro B70 - Missing tuning options

Hello,

thanks for adding (basic) support for the Arc Pro B70 in driver v8629.

Unfortunately tuning options are completely disabled for the B70. It would be awesome to be able to fiddle around with power limits, voltage and clocks.

This is available for consumer cards, so I guess enabling it on the Pro card shouldn't be too much trouble.

I've done a quick test in Indiana Jones and there seems to be quite some potential for tuning.

Are you expecting tuning controls such as power limit, voltage, and frequency sliders within the application UI, or via advanced/hidden settings?
Does the issue occur across all workloads, or only while running specific applications like Indiana Jones?
Have you tried reinstalling the latest supported driver (v8629) using a clean install option?
Are there any error messages, or is the tuning section completely missing/greyed out?

Are you checking for tuning options through the Intel Graphics Software / Intel Arc Control or another utility?
- I'm using Intel Graphics Software (for consumer Arc cards there's a tuning tab under Performance, which isn't available with the Arc Pro)
Is this behavior observed on a clean driver installation, or was it an upgrade from a previous version?
- clean install with DDU of driver v8629 (as of now v8724, again with DDU)
Could you confirm your system configuration (OEM system or custom-built workstation)?
- It's a custom-built system (Core Ultra 7 265K, Asrock Z890 Taichi OCF, 32GB Patriot DDR5-8000, Corsair AX1000 PSU)
Are you expecting tuning controls such as power limit, voltage, and frequency sliders within the application UI, or via advanced/hidden settings?
- I can work with any setup, though with consumer Arc cards it's available via the application UI.
Does the issue occur across all workloads, or only while running specific applications like Indiana Jones?
- I've noticed the relatively low power consumption and clocks in multiple applications.
Have you tried reinstalling the latest supported driver (v8629) using a clean install option?
- Yes, and again with v8724.
Are there any error messages, or is the tuning section completely missing/greyed out?
- It's completely missing.

I'll add a SSU later on.

Another heads-up,

with driver v8724 Indiana Jones freezes up, when activating path tracing. It works flawlessly in v8629 (see first post).

Hello Ramgound,

as promised I've attached the SSU report. It's been created with the new driver v8724 already installed.

The situation is unchanged and the Tuning tab just doesn't show with the B70 in the system. When I switch to the B580 the tab appears in the Intel Graphics Software.

Here's another benchmark with Doom The Dark Ages.

It's nice to see Arc being able to do Path Tracing (1440p, XeSS Quality).

Still the GPU power and clocks remain relatively conservative and (hidden) tuning options would be a nice playground.

I would like to inform you that you are currently using driver version 32.0.101.8724. However, since you are using Intel® Arc™ Pro B70 Graphics, the latest supported driver for this graphics card is 32.0.101.8515 (Q1.26).

thank you for your reply.

I'm aware that there is a Pro-specific driver, but the consumer driver (v8724) does officially support the B70 as well and should be preferable when running i.e. games.

Therefore I was specifically noting that the tuning tab is missing from the Intel Graphics Software, when using the supported Arc Pro card.

A few data points to add:

When tested with the Arc B580 Tuning options appear.

When tested with the Arc Pro B60 Tuning options appear.

When tested with the Arc Pro B70, Tuning options do not appear.

In each case Intel Graphics Software was not installed from the Microsoft Store, it was installed bundled with the graphics driver.

In each case, they are all discrete GPUs.

Please stop telling the story about Microsoft store builds, I'm using the driver from the official Intel page and have confirmed that multiple times now.

Also there's no iGPU variant of the Arc Pro B70, so of course a dGPU is used.

After investigation, we confirmed that this issue is not related to Microsoft Store builds or iGPU/dGPU configuration settings. The feature in question is currently supported only on desktop client discrete GPUs (dGPUs). At this time, it is not available for Pro dGPUs, integrated GPUs (iGPUs), or mobile dGPU SKUs.

We understand this may be disappointing, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.
