Windows Update keeps replacing the latest Intel Arc graphics driver with an older version

I'm experiencing an ongoing issue with my Intel Arc graphics drivers on my HP laptop.

I regularly update my graphics drivers using Intel Driver & Support Assistant. The installation completes successfully, and I install only the latest WHQL-certified graphics drivers.

However, after I reboot following the update, Windows Update automatically detects and installs an older Intel graphics driver, effectively replacing the newer one I just installed.

As of June 30, 2026, the latest WHQL-certified Intel graphics driver available through Intel is 32.0.101.8826, but Windows Update consistently rolls it back to 32.0.101.6556 after installation

Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Is there a way to prevent Windows Update from replacing the newer Intel driver with an older version? Is this expected behavior due to an OEM driver policy, or is there another underlying issue?

System information:

Windows 11 Home, version 25H2
Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor
Intel Arc Graphics
32 GB RAM
