It is normally recommended that you use separate cables from the Power Supply (PSU), as this (better) spreads the load across the available power rails. In your case, what you've done may work just fine as you have a beefier PSU. I would say try it and only make the change if you see issues.

Hope this helps,

...S

Good afternoon. How do the images look? There's a PCIe cable connected in a Y configuration; it's not visible, but it is visible. Is that correct? Or should I connect two separate PCIe cables? I'm talking about the Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition where the 8 + 6 pin connection is located.

The power supply or PSU is a Corsair RM850 80 Plus Gold Modular

With a Corsair RM850 80 Plus Gold, it's recommended to use two separate PCIe power cables for the Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition (one for the 8-pin and one for the 6-pin) rather than using a single daisy-chained (Y) cable.

While the Y cable will often work, using two individual cables provides more stable power delivery and is generally considered the best practice for higher-power GPUs. Since your PSU has multiple PCIe outputs, there's no downside to using separate cables.

So if you have two PCIe cables available, I'd connect one cable to the 8-pin connector and a second cable to the 6-pin connector.

I'm sending you a picture of the graphics card and the connection so you can tell me if it's correct or not. There are two power cables where you see the Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition graphics card. Tell me if I should use two cables or one. I'll send you a better picture and clean the graphics card.

It should work with the Y cable but if you have two separate PCIe cables I'd use those instead. It's the better option especially for a card like the A770.
