Hi.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed and why since driver version 4382 that the PCI Express Downstream and Upstream driver is not being installed on updating to new drivers.

I am using the current beta driver and have seen this with WHQL also.

Running Arc a770 and Windows 11.

Thanks.

Hello,

I also noticed this behaviour, but I unsure if it is a bug or intended behaviour

If I install Intel Arc driver installer package 31.0.101.4369, the same numbered driver authored by Intel is installed to some PCI Express Downstream Switch Port and PCI Express Upstream Switch Port devices in my Device Manager. This driver has an inf file called memcntrl.inf.

If I install a newer Intel Arc driver installer package, for example 31.0.101.4575, all of the PCI Express Downstream Switch Port and PCI Express Upstream Switch Port devices in my Device Manager are instead authored by Microsoft, with a driver version of 10.0.22621.1778.

Interestingly, it looks as though the newer Intel Arc driver installer package 31.0.101.4575 does try and install PCI Express Downstream Switch Port and PCI Express Upstream Switch Port drivers. I say this because when exploring DriverStore, there is a driver inf file called memcntrl.inf, with a driver version of 31.0.101.4575, but it is not applied to any device. Why does the driver installer package still install a memcntrl.inf file, if Intel's intention was to no longer update the PCI Express Downstream and Upstream Switch Port device drivers?

Again, I am unsure if it is a bug or intended behaviour, but something definitely changed.

Hope this is helpful
