This is a total disaster of a release. Does anything really get QA'd before releasing it?

My Bifrost A770 continuously ramps up and down the fan, I have ZERO control of it other that the lights.

Davinci Resolve freezes on export at the 71% mark then continues to finish. A clip that rendered off in 18 sec, now takes 24 sec.

My third monitor has stopped working.

I am severely pissed about the fact that I couldn't opt out of the FIRMWARE update. I only wanted a driver update. Is anyone at Intel going to buy me a new functioning card since the firmware ruined it and I can't work anymore?

So now I got BSOD and Davinci freezes completely at 71% rendering. I'm soooo angry right now. You've basically ruined my workflow and business.

I made a thread too about this but i have an a750 so i have different issues for some reason. I never learn my lesson with updates, my brain goes right to "there can be improvements" when it's working completely fine. I don't depend on the computer for my work like you but i can't play any games at all. I have faith they will fix this promptly.

Yup, I get into that "it must be better" mode. I've praised these 3 cards I have to everyone. I have nothing but disappointment for the "take it or leave it firmware" update. It should have been an option. And guess what I just found out. The Bifrost software doesn't work anymore. It crashes. You can't even reinstall it. It crashes. It even prompts you that unless you agree to Intel's new tracking in the Arc control during the install, they won't let you run the Bifrost software.

WTF is going on with this need to track us? I'm literally going to go back to my Nvidia cards. I'm done with this BS need to track and mandatory overwrite firmware. I had absolutely NO issues. Three monitors were working, programs wouldn't freeze. Man, am I pissed today.

The release notes even wiped the Premiere Pro issues with no resolution.

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We understand that after installing the latest firmware update your system has become unstable, and it is affecting your work.

Intel® Arc™ Graphics drivers include Firmware Updates (FW) for both Limited Edition and Intel Arc partner cards. You should be able to use Intel Arc Graphics driver 101.5330 and higher to be able to update the FW in your Acer BiFrost graphics card.

However, to further research this matter, we would like to gather more information about your system, this would help us check if the system is up to date and check further details. Please create a system report using the following tools:

Intel® System Support Utility (Intel SSU).

Open the application and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel SSU will take you to the "Summary View."
Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
To save your scan: click "Next"; then "Save."

Intel® Graphics Command Center:

Open the Intel Graphics Command Center
Navigate to the Support tab
Select System Diagnostic
Click Generate Report
Select Save and name the output file.

You should be fired for this comment.

You are oblivious to the fact Acer cards are Intel ARC cards.

They use the same drivers. The same drivers that everyone is complaining about in masses.

Telling me to go back to Acer for an INTEL ARC support/update is irresponsible.

You need retraining to familiarize yourself with your products.

Thanks for the information provided.

We understand that Acer Bifrost graphics cards are Intel® Arc™ A770 designed by Acer. However, it is important to mention that there are two different types of drivers, generics provided by Intel and Equipment Manufacturer drivers, that are customized to work with each specific system.

For testing purposes, you can also try a driver rollback to confirm if the issue remains. You should run the Display Driver Uninstaller. Check How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver for instructions. Once you run the tool, you should install the latest driver from Intel driver, 31.0.101.4577. The DDU tool will eliminate all drivers and leftover files from previous driver versions.

Sorry, but you are providing incorrect information to users. ACER has one driver listed and that is over 6 months old. Users should be applying Intel ARC drivers as recommended.

As for the VBIOS updater, there was no opt out. You forced everyone to take it if they wanted to update their DRIVERS. There was no mention of not working with certain cards. I'd say the majority are having issues with the forced Firmware update. You need to fix it for everyone. This conversation is nonsense.

I have a Predator Bifrost Intel Arc A770 16GB, and I am currently experiencing the same fan problem after the firmware update.

I tried to rollback to my previous driver, but the issue is still there with the fan.

If I'm not wrong, Acer's A770 have a different fan curve, maybe there was miscommunication between intel and Acer and they rolled out a BIOS without Acer's custom fan curve.

@AjrAlves Could be. But the strange thing is that why did it update the firmware when the installer should have recognized that we are using a Predator card? We didn't have a choice to not update firmware as well.

What is your idle power consumption with the Asrock A750?

Do it work with L1 State, to reduce the idle power?

I had to made an FW Update from Asrock with my Asrock A770 that L1 State works and to reduce the Idle consumption.

Its also for the A750 Cards from Asrock.

So when you have a verry high Idle power, try and read here,...

Yeah, that wasn't cool. And I'm almost sure they won't let anyone downgrade that BIOS because it was updated to address some security problems if I'm not wrong.
Anyways, almost sure Intel unifies the BIOS with all board IDs and board ID parameters in the same BIOS, that is because my ASRock A750 have a custom power and voltage profiles compared to stock A750, and they still apply to this new BIOS.

Except for the fan issue, the update has not given me any other issues at all. Quite happy about that!

I also noticed lower LOAD power usage with this new BIOS on my ASRock A750, around 6% lower in fact.

Just like everything else, it all fails. Generate Report says "Could not create bug report."

Want to use "Report a Bug or Issue"? Nope. Fill out the form and get an error.
