Intel Arc A380 wont boot on multi monitor only shows a dash upon booting

Hello, just wanna ask if anyone solved this?

I recently bought an Arc a380 and upon plugging in HDMI and DP monitor, every time I restart or turn on my pc, VGA Debug LED on my motherboard always turns on and one of the monitor displays a dash and wont proceed to boot. The only work around I did was plugging out my DP monitor and leaving the HDMI in, then it'll proceed to boot then I just plug my DP monitor back in when I'm at my PC lock screen then everything is fine. I hope there's a fix for this its really annoying to be honest.

Current driver I'm using is 31.0.101.4900

Thank you for posting on the Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communites. We know it can be annoying if you have to reconnect the DP cable every time you boot or reboot your system. I will be glad to help you.

I would first recommend a clean installation of the driver 31.0.101.4900 using Display Driver Uninstaller, to make sure there are no leftovers or corrupted files that might be causing problems.

I also recommend that you get into your BIOS and test noting the system with CSM enabled and disabled and check if the same issue happens, this might indicate compatibility issues if the system is able to boot with CSM enabled.

In case the issue continues to happen we would like to get your hardware details from your system and monitors so please share a report from the Intel® System Support Utility and from Intel Graphics Command Center (Intel GCC).

Thank you for sharing the log files with us. From the log files I see the BIOS installed on the motherboard is not the latest version, so in order to ensure the best possible compatibility I would recommend that you go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and update the BIOS to the latest available version.

Also, I see from the reports the monitor connected through DP is an HP V194 whose native connection is VGA so I would like to know if you are using any type of VGA to DP cable or adapter on this connection, please let us know.

Ah yes the I'm using a VGA to DP on the 2nd monitor..as for the BIOS ill try updating it, ill do a feedback once I have it up

In this case, there is a possibility the adapter is the root cause of the issue. I would advise that you try to test the GPU on a native DP monitor without an adapter to make sure whether the adapter is causing the problem. Or you can try a different adapter, however, they often cause issues and since there are so many in the market we cannot guarantee full compatibility with all of them. Sometimes the adapters also use firmware so you might want to take a look at the manufacturer's website and check if they offer any firmware to download.

Hello, I don't have a DP monitor right now ,so I cant test whether its really the adapter that's causing the problem. I do appreciate the solutions though but unfortunately looks like I'll just have to keep unplugging my second monitor in this case

I understand that you do not have another DP monitor, by any chance do you have another video adapter model you can test with your current monitor? If so, please let me know the results.

Also, I want to let you know that last week we released a new graphics driver, perform a clean installation to version 31.0.101.4952 with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) this is to check if there are improvements. For guidance, you can use How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.

If you do not have the possibility to get and test a different one let us know as well so we can check this issue with our team and check if there are any other options you can try. It would also be useful if you could let us know the make and model of the adapter you currently have.

I checked the video adapter that you are using and it seems there is no firmware required for it to function, however, since no other adapter has been tested so far we cannot discard the adapter is causing an issue.
