vPro Question

Hi, I'm actually an intern working with Intel right now and currently doing the study on vPro technogy. I have a few question here:

If I were to build a vPro PC myself, are these HW/SW components enough:?

processor with IVT
Q965 Express chipset which have microcontroller coded withME firmware.
82566DM/MM ethernet controller
BIOS that support Intel AMT and IVT.

which component does the network filtering process?

If available can someone point me to the AMT architecture block diagram which shows the connection between these hardwares and where each SW/firmware reside.

For the branding requirements of vPro, we require Core2Duo processor. More information about the chipset can be found at this URL - http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/Q965_Q963/index.htm. Please refer to this PDF document for block diagrams of the components involved - http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/q965_q963/prod_brief.pdf. A snapshot of the block diagram with Q965 chipset is shown below.

Regarding your question about the network filtering, its done by Intel AMT using the system defense feature. Please refer to the link below to learn more about Intel AMT architecture - http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/architecture-guide-intel-active-management-technology.

from the 82566DM datasheet, i've read that it support Intel virtualization technology through Intel Virtual Gigabit Connection which is required in vPro. May I know what is actually Intel Virtual Gigabit Connection and i can't find any link explaining about that.
