Make the examples Error! on NCS2 - [Error 7] Toolkit Error: USB Failure. Code: Error opening device

I setup my SDK env follow https://developer.movidius.com/start on my device NCS2.

I got several errors when I'm doing "make examples".

I have tested in both NCSDK1 and NCSDK2, not work.

Running the hello-ncs.py in NCSDK2:

W: [         0] ncDeviceOpen:527    ncDeviceOpen() XLinkBootRemote returned error 3
Error - Could not open NCS device.

Running the hello-ncs.py in NCSDK1:

Error - no NCS devices detected, verify an NCS device is connected.

My system in VM is ubuntu 16.04 desktop,

I have tested in both Parallels Desktop 14.01 and VIrualBox 5.2.22，the host OS is macOS Mojave 10.14.1.

What shall I do? Is my device is broken?

exactly the same error here, thisis on a standalone 16.04 and a VM

same error, except that I have ubuntu 16.04 running natively, with PCIe USB3.0 adapter from vantec:

Same error on Mac OS 10.12.6 with VirtualBox running Ubuntu 16.04

You seem to be running NCSDK, the official SDK for NCS2 is OpenVINO. Try the instructions in https://software.intel.com/en-us/neural-compute-stick/get-started. For further technical support, visit https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/computer-vision
