Hi CarlM,

Welcome to the Intel® Embedded Community!

The wireless module or access point your referring to is a PCIe mini card that has infrastructure mode. Is that right?

Here is a link of the list of wireless products offered by Intel. Open the product brief their you can compare each specifications and features for different devices.

http://www.intel.com/products/wireless/technicaldocuments.htm Wireless Products – Technical Documents

Regards,

Leon

Hi CarlM,

In that case you are looking at Infrastructure and ad hoc (peer-to-peer).

If you look this document below, it shows the architecture has both Infrastructure and ad hoc (peer-to-peer).

https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/centrino/centrino-advanced-n-6200-brief.html Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6200 Product Brief

You can also look at the other devices to see what architecture they have.

In addition, do you have any operating system in preference?

Regards,

Leon

Hello CarlM,

My name is Adam Martinak and I'm the account manager that covers South Texas and Louisiana at Intel. The use case for the independent network you are trying to create, I assume would be for equipment in the field? If that is the case, what type of devices need to be connected?

I encourage you to connect with me on LinkedIn and I would be very interested to discuss your project and how I can help.

http://www.linkedin.com/in/amartinak/en www.linkedin.com/in/amartinak/en

Regards,

Adam
