X550-AT2 bring-up

Hi,

I am trying to bring-up a design with X550-AT2 connected to PCIe PEG x4.

Unfortunately I was not able to get the device detected in EFI shell / BIOS or Operating system.

All supply voltages are present

PCI clock is present

Perst high

I found out, that the signals listed below do not have any pull-ups or pull-downs

NCSI_CLK_IN pull-down

NCSI_CRS_DV pull-down

NCSI_RXD1 pull-up

NCSI_RXD0 pull-up

NCSI_TX_EN pull-down

NCSI_TXD1 pull-down

NCSI_TXD0 pull-down

Can this cause the PCIe Interface not to work?

Is there a workaround to get the PCIe interface to work? Probably through JTAG access?

Thank you for contacting the Intel Embedded Community.

Usually PEG ports only works as PCIe x1 when you connect a Non-Graphics device (X550-AT2); so not sure which board you are using, but please check this first with your motherboard manufacturer or use a different PCIe port.

thank you for lookingt into my issue.

I am in touch with the manufacturer of the COM module I am using. We have developed ourselves the COM Carrier board. The COM module`s manufacturer has tested the PEG with another Ethernet module. I will try to set up another test with the COM reference carrier.

In the COM module`s hardware manual it is written, that the modules`PEG can be split into 1x8 and 2x4 what we did

Can you please tell me where to get the initial NVM firmware for X550 AT. I have found many update versions but the module`s manufacturer says I should install first x550-nvm-2-20-release.zip“ 605169-x550-nvm-2-00-release.zip

In the update packages there are many bin files. Which one is the right, to rule out that NVM firmware is not the issue?

I got X550 detected on PCIe now. Running it with PEG is no issue. Also unconnected NCSI wires seem not to block PCIe

I programmed flash content to the Flash

I am till wondering which one is the appropriate file

So far I haven`t got any Ethernet Link, but the PCIe is up and running which is half of the cake

i got one port ETH0 up and running

unfortunately the second port does not work when i connect a cable

I have pulled both EN_Signals high and also together just for second debugging

Can you please give a hint?

Is this maybe related to the right flash content?

I am still not sure which content I need to program into NVM

I got the PCIe PEG part up and running. I face now issues with the second Ethernet Port and I don`t know which flash content I need to program. Can you please let me know?

A similar problem with one port inactive I found in this thread
