Hello,

I was directed to post my inquiry here from Intel Support Service Request #:06829349.

I have a retail i226-T1 adapter card that I'm looking to update the bootloader (UEFI, PXE) and NVM.

When trying to use the Intel Ethernet Flash Firmware Utility (BOOTUTILW64E.exe), I'm getting a "FLASH Unknown" under the Flash Firmware.

Any attempts to update the flash with "efi, pxe, combo" all produce the same error message "x is not a valid image type for port 1" (see log file BOOTUTILW64E_I226_T1.txt) I've attach photos of the card in question along with the box it came in.

Hello @bk10,

Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

What firmware are you using and what firmware are you trying to install?

Have you tried contacting the place where you have purchased your product to get further help on this, as many tools are for developer and not available in general, so I think it may be best if you contact your vendor to get help in this regard.

Best regards,

Hi @Diego_INTEL ,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The firmware I'm using is what was shipped with the card. Intel Ethernet Flash Firmware Utility (BOOTUTILW64E.exe) lists it as
"UEFIx64 v0.1.05". (see the output log BOOTUTILW64E_I226_T1.txt for reference).

The firmware I'm trying to install is from Intel Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack version 31.1, specifically from the "APPS > BootUtil" folder within the archive.

The image versions in BootIMG.FLB per the "iv.txt" file within the Bootutil folder are listed below:

Combo Image Version Name 1.3955.0

Combo Rules v6.22.00
Intel(R) Boot Agent GE v1.5.90
Intel(R) Boot Agent XE v2.4.59
Intel(R) Boot Agent XE (X550) v2.4.59
Intel(R) Boot Agent XE (E610) v2.4.59
Intel(R) Boot Agent I40E v1.1.45
Intel(R) Boot Agent ICE v2.6.32
UEFI x64 PCI-E gigabit driver v9.9.13
UEFI x64 10 gigabit driver v8.3.15
UEFI x64 40 gigabit driver v5.0.43
Intel(R) 800 Series Ethernet Driver v4.4.08
Intel(R) 800 Series Ethernet Driver (AArch64) v4.4.0

I haven't attempted to contact the vendor yet as these are files/utilities contained within Intel's Ethernet complete driver pack.

Best regards,

bk10
