X710 MAC address overwritten issue

Deal Intel,

We ran into a problem where the X710 MAC address for port overwritten by MAC address stored in the SW Data-Recovery section of the EEPROM. From the screenshots, the MAC addresses at 0xC28 has the "bad" address and overwrites the correct address.

Can you explain under what conditions will trigger the operation?
