Creat multi VLAN for network card I210/I 217-LM_"one or more VLAN(s) could not be created, Please check the adapter status and try again"

I want to create Multi vlan for network card I210 and I217-LM on my PC.

but I always got "one or more VLAN(s) could not be created, Please check the adapter status and try again", meanwhile network card disabled.

my operation system is windows 764bit Ultimate.

after I tried several times, there were several virtual network card created, but no vlan. I even can not uninstall the created virtual network card.

anybody can give some suggestion?

for better investigation:

1) What is the PROSet version used?

Have you tried using version 23.1 available at

2) What is the model of your board?

3) Is the I210 an onboard NIC on your board also?

4) Please refer to below website on how you can remove the virtual adapter manually.

Hi Sharon,

I have latest version 23.1. after I uninstall driver with Version 23.1, I uninstalled all the virtual network card created previously.but I still have problem with create VLAN. similar as previous version, pop up same message, meanwhile disable the network card, just doesn't create virtual network work card anymore.

I have both I217-LM and I210 in my PC, it looks like all are on board.

Hi Gongxin,

Thank you for the reply. What is the brand and model of your board? Have you tried checking with the board vendor for the driver? For onboard NIC, It is recommended to use the driver from the board vendor since modification might have done on the NIC to adapt to the board.

Have you tried the suggestion registry editing stated in the website?
