The uninstalling of Intel I219-V - The Intel Strikes Back

I am submitting this post: https://community.intel.com/t5/Ethernet-Products/The-uninstalling-of-Intel-I219-V-A-Novel/m-p/1309596#M26324

Again, as, some person decided to close my previous one saying that I have submitted some kind of support ticket, which I HAVE NOT. It would be advisable to make doubly sure of everything before you decide to CLOSE peoples support posts. I am QUITE SURE that I HAVE NOT posted for support on this issue on any other Intel support platform. The only place I posted, as I considered that it might be the fastest way to resolve the issue, WAS HERE.

Text from original post:

Howdy folks,

I've been fighting with this ethernet adapter, Intel I219-V for about 3 days now, to get it uninstalled, since it is running drivers as new as 2015 and it completely refuses to update to a newer version, and to install the newest version 26.4 package that claims to support this particular pain-in-my-mass adapter.

Now, for referece, I've been following and working off a previous discussion that presented a similar issue, on this forum: https://community.intel.com/t5/Ethernet-Products/How-do-I-uninstall-the-quot-Intel-Network-Connectio...

To summarize the issue: I have followed the steps presented in the discussion above but that bubonic plague of an adapter keeps coming back with a vengeance, whether the ethernet cable is plugged, unplugged or whatever else I try to do to it. That thing is as immune as a damned cockroach.

Does anyone have any suggestions that might help me get rid of this thing?

Thanks in advance for the help!

To provide some more details about this issue, as the person who single-handedly decided to close my post and give me a couple more days of waiting before my issue could be resolved, asked:

OS: Microsoft Windows 10 PRO (running fully updated)

Ethernet Adapter: Intel I219-V integrated on an Asus Maximus VIII Extreme motherboard

Link of the driver I am trying to install: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18293/intel-network-adapter-driver-for-windows-10.html

Brand of system: I built it myself so I'm not sure what brand I could give you. The motherboard is listed a little higher up.

Screenshot of issue: I honestly do not see how I could provide a screenshot of the issue.

Summary:

Whenever I try to uninstall the adapter and its drivers from Device Manager (I have already uninstalled the Intel package for this adapter from Add/Remove Programs and I have also removed all the registry entries as instructed in the forum post I used as a guideline, that I mentioned above), the adapter shows back up, as if nothing had happened, after 1 to 2 minutes, whether I restart my PC or not, or the computer is connected to the Internet, or not.

When I try to install the driver, it tells me that the drivers that are already installed cannot be updated and that I need to uninstall those drivers before I install the newer ones.

Hi CrisselleF_C_Intel,

If my other post was still open, could you please explain this, http://prntscr.com/1qjqrcv to me?

Also, please keep in mind that I had checked and the post had truly been closed, since I had not had the option to reply to it.

That is the reason why I had created a new post.

If that post has been reopened, I shall gladly collaborate with you on the other one and this one can and should be closed.

Quite curious as to how you would reply and explain that email though...

LE: I have, also, just double-checked, and whatever the other person did to the other thread, has still not been reverted and I am still not able to reply to that thread. Please see screenshot proof here: http://prntscr.com/1qjqw3m

This would mean, that I DO still need to use this thread to receive assistance since the other one appears to be CLOSED for me.

It would be advisable and incredibly helpful if someone would give Mr. Michael_L_Intel2 a talking to, as it would appear that he is not very familiar with how the platform here works.
