Same issue here. Asus ROG STRIX Z590-F gaming motherboard.

Cat 7 network cable to the PC but only 100Mbps link speed reported regardless of the Speed/Duplex settings.

It I plug the same cable into a laptop that also supports 1Gbps connection it reports the correct link speed so nothing wrong with the cable.

I have contacted Asus who suggested resetting CMOS which worked once but subsequently have noticed the link speed drop back to 100Mbps. Resetting CMOS failed this time, but this should NOT be necessary to do as the LAN connection should work at it's optimum OUT OF THE BOX with no tweaking.

Latest drivers are installed (at least using your Driver & Support Assistant. There is NO setting under advanced "Gigabit Master Slave Mode"

There are many reports of similar issues with this chipset, which would indicate an inherent fault with the product, one which Intel should be remedying.

Hi Saurav97,

As for your ethernet port is configure 100mbps by manufacturer as standard config.

What you can do is to check this setting is to open up device manager -> go to network adapters -> click driver and do an update. Old version of driver can cause the Network adapter not working properly.

Afterwards, go to advanced and click on "Gigabit Master Slave Mode" and set it to force master mode. This should force it to its fastest speeds. Let me know if it help to solve your issue.

Shaq_Intel

Hi Saurav97,

As you are using MSI motherboard, Try to update to the latest BIOS since the network card is embedded in your MB. As OEM have their own firmware and software update. Try to update the BIOS and see if it help.

Regards,

Shaq_Intel
