Unable to install network driver for Intel® 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection

I have a Dell Optiplex 7010 with an Intel® 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection, I have Intel® Driver & Support Assistant installed and it says there is a driver update available for my network adapter but when I get to installing, it says that there are no Intel® Network Connections on this computer, is there any way to fix this or install the drivers in other ways? I tried installing 4 times and it failed all the times. I disabled all other network adapters in Device Manager and tried but it still didn't work.

You may try to download and install manually the Intel® Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack 29.3.1.

Like Nileshram, it fails. It's crazy how we get the msg that there are no INTEL connections installeded while we see the devices in Device Manager.

Your problem may be different. You have an old laptop (2nd generation CPU). It is not clear to me what is network adapter installed in this laptop (it is Intel adapter?) and what is the O.S.? In my opinion, you should open a thread of yours (with the all relevant technical details), or even better, ask the question in Asus support.

Same here. what gives? Lenovo Think Station S30, running Windows 10 Pro, with a Intel 82579LM gigabyte network adapter. Thought that BitLocker was the culprit but after disabling it temporally it still claims that no Intel network adaptors could be found.

Support for the 82579LM was discontinued many years ago and dropped from the list of supported adapters in current driver packages. None of the downloadable driver packages includes support for this adapter. I looked back (way back!) through my archive and found Windows 10 support for this adapter in the LAN 27.0 package, which was published in early 2022. This package, considering it supports many Windows and Linux versions, is huge and not uploadable. I extracted just the folder providing just the Windows 10 drivers and have provided it in an attached ZIP file. This is best I can do for you with upload size limitations.

Extract this ZIP file to a temporary folder before accessing. You must install via Device Manager using the have-disk method, pointing it to this temporary folder.

Apologies for the delayed response, I was using a different PC so I did not have the time to test it out, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out, I installed the driver package with the method you provided and it worked, DSA no longer tells to update the drivers. Thank you very much.
