Hello Sir,

We have observed that the Intel E610 network card fails to display its chip model and speed under the Linux operating system, showing only the VID/PID (see Fig. 1).

It does not display the complete information typically shown with Intel ICs, such as “x7100” (Fig.2). However, it functions normally under Windows OS (Fig. 3).

Will Intel address this issue? Will they resolve it through firmware or driver updates?

Hi MaxKao,

Thank you for your response.

Kindly confirm with us if you managed to perform a clean removal of the driver.

For Windows, You may refer to the link here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000058304/ethernet-products.html

and https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/15084/intel-ethernet-adapter-complete-driver-pack.html

Additionally, we recommended to try the following :

1) Disable Energy‑Efficient Ethernet (EEE)

2) Keep Speed & Duplex = Auto Negotiation

3) Make sure the BIOS is updated to the latest version.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

We completely uninstalled the driver and rebooted the system before installing the new Linux driver. Furthermore, this issue occurs on the Linux operating system, not on Windows.

2. We have also tested the three suggested methods, but the results remain unchanged.

3. Does the network card information indicate that this issue is unrelated to the E610 controller firmware?

Tks

Max

Hello MaxKao,

Good day to you.

Please be informed that updates to PCID database may be required for newer Ubuntu OS versions for hardware released after the specific OS build date.

Meanwhile, kindly attempt to run the lspci command with the '-nn' option to show PCI vendor and device codes as both numbers and names.

Please be informed that lspci only displays revision when its value is not zero (0).

For furhter reasoning on this, you may need to check with the pciutils author or forum where they may be able to provide better clarification on this.

Best Regards,

Azhari_Intel
