I'm working with the D415 on OSX. I noticed on startup the console logs tell me that my firmware is older than the recommended version:

Info:

  Name : Intel RealSense D415

  Firmware Version : 05.08.15.00

  Recommended Firmware Version : 05.09.09.02

I found the download link to the latest firmware binary, but the firmware upgrade tool looks like it's only available for windows:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27792/Latest-Firmware-for-Intel-RealSense-D400-Product-Family https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27792/Latest-Firmware-for-Intel-RealSense-D400-Product-Family

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27514/Windows-Device-Firmware-Update-Tool-for-Intel-RealSense-D400-Product-Family https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27514/Windows-Device-Firmware-Update-Tool-for-Intel-RealSense-D400-Product-Family

Is there a way to update the firmware while running on OSX?

Thanks!

There are updater tools for Windows and Linux. If you are a Mac user and do not want to buy a PC to update the firmware on (or do not have access to one), you may be able to run Windows on Mac High Sierra with Bootcamp. You would still need to obtain the Windows OS to install on your Mac though.

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208123 Switch between Windows and macOS in macOS High Sierra - Apple Support
