How can i prevent automatic installation of R200 DCM??

Hi.

I work with realsense, SR300, R200, ZR300

The first question

I use the color camera app provided by Windows10, and the color camera does not work if the dcm has been installed since the windows update 1703

Moreover, the dcm is automatically installed after the windows update 1703

So I am removing the dcm whenever I connect R200.

How can i prevent the dcm from automatically installing??

The second question

I use the librealsense provided by git, but I have trouble operating the color camera app provided by windows10 and librealsense depth stream project at the same time.

It is possible to simultaneously operate two thins at the same time as SR300.

However, in R200 , there is and error stating that no resources are available (0xA00F4243(0XC00D3704))

why does this differ? How can I fix it??

1. You could either set up a rule in your Windows firewall to stop a download of the DCM:

Or set your internet connection in Windows 10 to Metered to stop automatic updates (this only works for machines on wi-fi though, not ones connected with an ethernet cable).

2. I believe it is the Virtual Driver that allows a non-RealSense program to access the camera at the same time as the camera is being used by a RealSense application. R200 does not have a Virtual Driver though.

1. I tried the block a program in Windows FireWall.

However, there was an ambiguity while trying.

"4. Select 'This program path:' and select the program you want to block." in link page

I tried two ways.

first, I registered all of the .exe files in below path.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\RSDCM_R200

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\RSDCM_R200

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\RSDCM

second, I registered install file, "intel_rs_dcm_r200_2.1.27.2853.exe"

which path should I add ??

2. So, if it is sad, can I think it is impossible in R200??

Each camera model has its own DCM folder in the Common Files section. For example, RSDCM is for the F200 camera and RSDCM_SR300 is for the SR300.

So RSDCM_R200 would be the logical path to choose for blocking R200 update.

Regarding a Virtual Driver for the R200 ... this idea probably isn't going to work, but it may not hurt to try. The Virtual Driver for the F200 camera (which is the same hardware generation as the R200) is RealSenseDCM.sys in the RSDCM > Driver folder. I would make a copy of this file and paste it into the R200's driver folder, which is RSDCM_R200 > bin > x64.

I'd be amazed if it worked though!

First there is no Virtual Driver for the R200 camera.

The Virtual Driver is what allows multiple applications to use a RealSense™ camera.

Only one application can use the R200 camera at a time. This is due to the history of the camera.

The R200 camera was first designed as a rear facing camera for tablets. In those use cases, it only made sense that one application uses the camera at a time so no virtual driver was ever developed for it.
