I currently have Ubuntu 14.04 (could upgrade to 16.04 if necessary).

What about Windows?

Hi Pototo,

Thank you for contacting us!

I noticed that Jose replied to you in his other thread already, and he's right, for Linux developing you'll have to use Librealsense, https://github.com/IntelRealSense/librealsense https://github.com/IntelRealSense/librealsense. While this is not an official Intel product, it has lots of features and there's a lot of information around the web that you'll find useful, Jose already provided a link that you can check on his thread.

For Windows, the RealSense SDK is the main option for developing. Just by installing it you have access to many sample code (hand gesture and tracking included). You can download it from here https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-realsense-sdk/download https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-realsense-sdk/download.

Regards,

-Pablo
