topic I got too excited and thought in Intel® Fortran Compiler

I got too excited and thought I'd clean up some older versions (12.0.5, 12.1.9 and 12.1.10) at the same time. More recent compilers then went walkabout. A repair seems to bring them back.

Last week I installed Studio 2013 which includes Composer XE 13.0.0.089.

This week I get an email saying that composer has been updated - XE 2011 Update 12.

Is this newer than the version I'm using?

thanks,

The 12.1 update 12 may have some bug fixes newer than the 13.0 compiler, but I wouldn't expect it to adopt all the changes of 13.0.
If you have both 12.1 and 13.0 compilers installed, it should offer to update the 12.1, leaving 13.0 in place. I'm trying it now.
I'd wonder if it may have implemented the changes in simd directives which are in 13.0. I see that it has an updated MKL version; otherwise, to my untutored eye, it's not evident from the release notes.

If you already have 13.0, ignore the 12.1 update. This just provides some bug fixes for customers who don't want to update to 13.0. You will often see us do this - offer one or two updates of the old version after the new version is launched. There is no new functionality in 2011 Update 12.

Yes, having selected the option to replace current installation, the 12.1 upgrade replaced the previous 12.1, integrating with VS2010, and ignoring VS2012, leaving the 13.0 installation (which is integrated with both VS2010 and 2012) untouched.
On another installation I have VS2005, 2008, 2010, and 2012, and the 12.1 upgrade, like its predecessor, integrated with VS2005 through VS2010.

I made the same experience: I removed older versions after installing version 13.0.89. Then I received strange error messages, at least from the the C/C++ compiler. After reinstalling version 2011.11.344 everything worked fine again using 13.0.89. A problem with the installation procedure?
