We invite Linux Fortran users to let us know here about which Linux distributions you use now and plan to use in the future. This will help us in our future planning.

1) desktop engineering computation-intensive design application, not quite in the HPC arena yet, but will soon use OpenMP.

Additional remark:

We hope to move to a multi-processor Itanium workstation, at least at first for program development, when there's a compiler available for it that will handle our code. We don't know which distribution we'll use on it.

The clusters at our site use ROCKS, which is based on RH, so we will use whatever they use as their base.

Debian testing

We will most likely stay with SUSE for the desktops and with
Debian for our computing cluster. On both f90/c++ compilers are needed.
