Visual Studio 2019

We face an important issue regarding the installation of the Intel Fortran Compiler in new Windows machines.

It seems that our version (Intel Parallel Studio XE 2020 Composer Edition for Fortran Windows, Version 19.1.0055.16) is compatible only with Visual Studio 2019 v16.3 (according to this link https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/reference-implementation/intel-compilers-compatibility-with-microsoft-visual-studio-and-xcode.html) .

However Microsoft has removed the capability of downloading and installing this version of VS. The executable for the VS installation that we used in the past automatically downloads the newer version 16.11. With this version of VS installed, Intel Compiler installation stops almost immediately without warning.

Could you please assist with this issue? How can we use Intel Fortran with Visual Studio?

You should update to the latest, you are not meant to stay with old unsupported versions.

Otherwise we would still be using Windows 95.

Both Visual Studio and ONE API are easy to update.

Yes, the Intel oneAPI compilers, including Fortran, have been free for years (unless you wish to pay for special user support); see the links mentioned above.
