Developer crashes with Intel8 plugin

I just got the Intel 8 compiler and am trying to compile a CVF6.6 project. I open the CVF project with the DevStudio.Net and try to compile my solution, which consists of about 15 projects. Originally, only the "main" project would compile, even though the Dependencies do show the main project depending on the subprojects. So then I tried the Extract Compaq Visual Fortran Project Items option on each project, and now when I try to build, the DevStudio crashes (application error, would you like to send an error report), but it is pointing to the IVF plugin. Has anyone seen a similar behavior and found a cure. I can give a more exact error message if it helps.

Yes, I saw this behavior. It happens with solutions that have three or more projects, under some circumstances. I reported it and it got fixed.

Have you tried the 8.0.040 update? I think the problem is fixed there.

I am just running whatever Intel sends on their CD. So I will try to download the latest patch and see if that helps.

Note that you will have to reconvert the workspace to take advantage of the fix.

Any idea where I can get this. I do not see anything on their website to download any patches, just evaluations and renewals. The help about in developer.net shows the following info about the Intel FORTRAN.

Version 8.0.1877.2003

If you purchased the compiler with support, and registered, you log into Intel Premier Support and the updates are downloadable from there. If you don't have support, you won't be able to install the update.

I got that update, and it does now compile most of my files. But the development environment still occupies about 450MB after I export all my projects. Does anyone have any idea what's up with this.Our solution contains about 20 projects, and the DFDEV grows substantially each time a new project has its CVF settings exported. Doesn't seem to make much sense. The old CVF environment was only using about 60MB of memory.

I don't understand - what is occupying 450MB and what do you mean by "after I export all my projects"? DFDEV isn't part of Intel Visual Fortran. When I run VS.NET with a Fortran project, I see about 8MB of memory used by devenv.exe.

The VM size of the Developer Studio.net is 450MB, and the actual memory usage is around 250MB. But it only happens after I export my CVF project settings, and it stays like that if I exit and then reopen.
