Searching to find out how configuration parameters in previous versions are used in 12.1I do see the ifortvars.bat file but it is quite different. Where is the INTEL_LICENSE_FILE variable called or what is the replacement? This is needed for to allow users to point to a global license location.

INTEL_LICENSE_FILE is a system environment variable. Its use has not changed in many, many years. If you want to use that, define the system environment variable INTEL_LICENSE_FILE to have a value that is the hostname of your license server. You can also specify, during installation, that you are using a license server and the install will lead you through the steps.
