topic Intel Compilers & Academic Licensing in Intel® Fortran Compiler

So the academic licenses are no longer free?
Why?

I have students and researchers who don't get paid to write code but get paid to do science, does this mean that they are covered on the non-commercial license?

This is going to limit us to only using GNU which does not perform as well and might well add to the folks moving to AMD.
