&lt;DIV&gt;Using Compaq Fortran 6.6&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;When opening a sequential unformatted file you have to specify the maximum record length.&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;If you write on a record more than this maximum, there is no problem.&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;What does the compiler ?&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;It seems that it doesn't take into account the maximum length !&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;DIV&gt;Remark: we use the /assume:byterecl option.&lt;/DIV&gt;
