There is an X in front of it. Do I need to uninstall VS2005? I thought they could co-exist. Does VS2008 work with XP? Yes, VS2008 works with XP. I see no particular advantage to using the VS08 Shell if you already have VS2005. VS08 works a bit better on Windows 7 but I would not choose VS08 Shell over a "real" VS05 install.
