topic Problem using Bidrectional buffers in GPU Compute Software

<P>I have narrowed the problem down to a very simple project. The idea is to write two bytes to an EEPROM, read them back and create a 16bit word. Writing is successful but reading back fails in that the receiving instance sets the input register to all highs. I set an output bus directly onto the buffer;s 'output' bus (Ie the received data) and that is good. DataIn is set to " in Std_logic_vector(7 downto 0);". I tried using a simple pulse gerator using one bit and that worked but using 8 bits does not. I am completely lost as to why this occurs. I do not think I doing something wrong but will willingly 'put my hand up'if I am at fault. PS. Please, please send me an email so that I can at least say thank you. In the past anything i sent out went into a 'black hole'</P>
