HD Graphics 530 > Displayport-HDMI cable: 2048x1152

Issue

When my iiyama Prolite B2888UHSU monitor is connected by a displayport > HDMI cable (http://https//www.amazon.com/Valueline-DisplayPort-HDMI-DisplayPort-male-HDMI-VLCP37100B20/dp/B00I7XVOZ2 Valueline VLCP37100B20), the max resolution is 2048x1152 instead of the desired 3840x2160 resolution. When it's connected with a normal displayport cable the 4k res works well.

When I delete the driver and use the Microsoft basic display-adapter I get the 4k res, but with a thick black line at the bottom.

System

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 14393) (14393.rs1_release_inmarket.161102-0100)

System: Acer Veriton X6640G

BIOS: R01-A4 (latest)

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz

Processor Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics 530

Driver: 20.19.15.4463

The same monitor with the displayport > HDMI cable on another pc (Acer Veriton X6630G, HD Graphics 4600) works well.

(How) can I make it work with the mentioned cable?

With the Intel® graphics we don't recommend any adapters or any combination displayport > HDMI cable, we recommend using straight connection, HDMI to HDMI monitor or DisplayPort to a DisplayPort monitor. If you use any adapter or combination we cannot guarantee full resolution, however, you can try an active adapter and that can help you better.

You can also try installing the latest graphics driver, you can download it here:

I suggest you to uninstall the older driver first and to install this new driver version manually.

Make sure you have the INF driver installed for your monitor if there is one available, a monitor driver supplies configuration information (an .INF file) used by the operating system to implement the plug and play (PnP) features of the monitor. This configuration information includes supported refresh rates, screen resolution, and color quality settings.

You can get the INF driver from your monitor manufacturer; check the website of your monitor manufacturer to see if a monitor driver or monitor .INF file is available for download.

Check that you have the latest BIOS for your system, if you don't have the latest, try installing the latest BIOS version from your computer manufacturer Acer.
