Intel Driver Support Assistant Installer halts at "Initializing"

Whilst attempting to install Intel Driver Support Assistant, the Installer halts at "Initializing"

and eventually the installer fails with an error:

The log file has the following error which appears to cite Visual Studio as an unreachable package:

Are there any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue?

Windows 10 Pro 64bit

I resolved this by downloading and installing the VS distributable and then re-attempting the IDSA install.

if you have the same problem then

https://download.visualstudio.microsoft.com/download/pr/2250605e-e48f-43ed-ba6e-e0cc18bc530d/AC75A82D873E6B6F98B1D293042380764D7D263C43438E50D564FA58C9F891C2/VC_redist.x86.exe

is the link you should paste in browser and it will download a file names vc_redist... something like that and install it and

it works

for how i got it i opened the error log and found the error link and pasted it and it worked
