Intel storage matrix manager installation issues

OS XP pro x64

Mobo Asus P5Kpro

I have downloaded the Intel Storage Matrix Manager that the support website recommended for XP pro 64bit and every time I run the install I get the following error.

"This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software.

Setup will exit.'

I have tried multiple versions of the software from the Intel website and also the one directly from ASUS. The older versions give a readme that references "NOTE 1: If the system is running Windows* 64-bit version,

the Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager driver supporting

64-bit should be used."

But no reference as to where to get it. And also

"5. The 'Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility'

must be installed prior to installing the

Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager."

I downloaded and (re)installed The Intel Chipset Device Software but this doesnt change the error message.
